Personally, he is the president of the NJ Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.

He has also served two terms as Councilman in the Township of West Orange, NJ. In 2007 he was honored as a Grand Marshall of the New Jersey Hispanic Parade and in 2012 he was selected by the Boys & Girls Club as Councilman of the Year.
